BLANDFORD BOWLING CLUB

CLUB FINALS WEEKEND - 20th to 22nd AUGUST 2021

    Six of the 9 finals were held on Saturday which started in rain and heavy cloud.  Comps secretary, Colin Pickering, was delighted as the sun broke through in late morning and remained for the rest of the day. The spectators were equally pleased and players put away their rainwear.

    The standard of bowling was very high and the spectators were entertained by some very close matches.  Undoubtedly star of the weekend was Millie Tuck who won her way through to 5 finals and won three of them including The Rose Bowl ladies' champion. She was closely followed by Nathan Wood who won three trophies. Thanks to Kevin Donaldson for umpiring the matches and Peter Preen, Daphne West and Carl Budd for presenting the trophies.

     The Men's champion was Steve Tamplin who defeated 2019 champion Andy Paulley. 

We were all thankful to Elizabeth Pickering for producing a very tasty Saturday lunch together with helpers Mandy Tarrant and Judy Walters.
