The club is formally affiliated to Bowls Dorset and Bowls England. We have about 130 members.
There are Juniors’, Ladies’ and Men’s sections and a number of social members.
The club is run by a committee and all tasks are undertaken by volunteers; there are no paid staff.
Bowling takes place from April to September. There is a comprehensive list of internal competitions that are keenly contested by members. There is an active social programme during the winter months. This includes cribbage, quiz nights, bingo nights, coffee mornings, craft mornings and carpet bowls. A winter calendar of events is posted on the club website during closed season. The past winter programme for our closed season 25-26 can be accessed by clicking on the calendar tab. Carpet bowls which normally takes place on a Thursday afternoon is not listed here.
Our refurbished clubhouse has changing and catering facilities and there is always a well stocked bar. There is a high quality 6 rinks green that is maintained by club members.
We play in a number of Men’s and Ladies’ Leagues and we host about 20 touring teams each year. Potential touring teams should contact the Club Secretary. There is a comprehensive list of internal competitions that are keenly contested by members.

How to join
Anyone interested in joining the club can come along to one of our open days where they can meet our coaches and other club members. Coaching sessions are available for new bowlers to introduce them to the game. If you are an experienced bowler or are unable to come to an open day, a taster session can be organised with the coaching co ordinator, by contacting the club. All new playing members pay a one off joining fee of £25.
The 5 coaching lessons for new bowlers is £25.
Annual membership for playing members is £130 (this is reduced for new bowlers following their coaching lessons).
Annual membership for junior members is £15.
Annual membership for social members is £35.
There are no additional rink fees for members who come along to the club to practice.
Rink fees are paid for home league matches, county competitions, national competitions, club leagues, club competitions and events including friendlies.
