CLOSING DAY – SATURDAY 27th SEPTEMBER

The weather was kind for our closing day to end the outdoor bowling season. Bowlers participated in a fun afternoon of bowling organised by the president. this was followed by a lovely buffet provided by club members. Donations were given to the presidents charity, Julia’s House. Link further down the page.

COUNTY FINALS 2025

The County Finals took place at Sherborne on the weekend of the 13th and 14th September. Blandford was well represented by players from the Men’s Team, Ladies Team and Juniors. Spectators enjoyed the competitive games in between the rain showers.
The results for Blandford are below.

The Blandford Team were Runners Up to Dorchester in the East 3 Division for the Percy Baker Competition.

Terri Lake & Gill Budd were awarded their Runners Up trophies for the Area National Ladies Pairs.

Julie Pitt was the Winner in the Cobern Trophy.

Lucy Rankin-McIntosh & Martha Gilley were the Winners of the Under 16 Pairs with Tom Gilley & his partner from Branksome, Runners Up.

Sylvia Lazar was the Winner of the Ladies Under 16 Singles with Martha Gilley, Runner Up.

Tom Gilley was the Runner Up in the Men’s Under 16 Singles.

Saturday was a very special day for Julie and her family with herself and the grandchildren playing in the finals at the same time and all receiving trophies.
