Welcome to Blandford Bowling Club

Nestled in the heart of Dorset, Blandford is a charming Georgian market town renowned for its picturesque streets, historic architecture, and vibrant community spirit. The town is ideally situated within easy reach of the stunning resorts that line the southern Dorset coast, making it a popular destination for visitors seeking a blend of heritage and seaside leisure.

Blandford Bowling Club is a jewel within the town’s recreational offerings, located on the scenic recreational ground and proudly supported by the Town Council. It stands as a testament to the rich community life that thrives in Blandford, providing a welcoming and well-maintained space for both residents and visitors to enjoy.

Our Club takes pride in fostering a warm, inclusive, and friendly atmosphere. We are an active and well-organized club, always eager to welcome new members and visitors, particularly touring teams who wish to experience the camaraderie and excellent facilities we have to offer.

With roots dating back to 1930, the Club is steeped in history. Interestingly, historical records indicate the existence of a Bowling Green on a 1732 map, which marked the extent of the Great Fire of Blandford. This historic Green was located within 500 meters of our current Club, adding a fascinating connection to the town’s past.

Guided by an ambitious and dedicated Committee, Blandford Bowling Club is constantly striving to enhance its facilities, improve playing conditions, and expand its vibrant social programs. We are proud to host a thriving community with active juniors’, ladies’, and men’s sections, ensuring that players of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to participate and enjoy the sport.

Whether you’re a seasoned bowler or a curious newcomer, we invite you to join us at Blandford Bowling Club. Together, we continue to build on our rich legacy while embracing a bright and inclusive future.
